Regulatory Engagement
We engage with the regulatory community through consultation responses on key issues affecting institutional investors and the alternative investment industry, while maintaining dialogue with global regulators. Our work is supported by the Global Regulatory Committee, which is equally represented by institutional investors and asset managers.
Continuously improving the Standards and producing practical industry guidance in collaboration with our stakeholders allows us to develop expertise in many areas, including responsible investment, governance, cyber security and many others, which feature as key priorities for the regulatory community as it seeks to promote fair and efficient markets, reduce systemic risk, and help investors make well-informed decisions.
Since 2014, the SBAI has been an Affiliate Member of the International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO), a global standard-setter for the securities sector. IOSCO works closely with the G20 and the Financial Stability Board (FSB) on the global regulatory reform agenda. We feed into the IOSCO process through participation in the Affiliate Members Consultative Committee (AMCC).
