Paulina Arent

Portfolio Manager, External Portfolio Management, CPP Investments

Paulina is based in our London office and oversees a global portfolio of fundamental equity and commodity funds.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2013, Ms. Arent worked in the Equity Capital Markets group at BMO Capital Markets in Toronto, underwriting equity offerings for Canadian corporate clients. Prior to her work at BMO, Ms. Arent was an analyst in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse.

Paulina holds a B.A. (Hons) in Applied Economics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

Tom Cheesman

Executive Director, Stable Asset Management

Tom Cheesman is an Executive Director in Stable’s London office, leading global business development and manager sourcing. Previously Director of Business Development at Cardwell Investment Technologies, Tom also held analyst roles at Barclays Capital and BASF and started his career as an exotic derivatives broker at Berkeley Futures Ltd.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Psychology from the University of Warwick.

Maria Long

Research and Content Director , SBAI

Maria Long joined the SBAI as Research & Content Director in August 2020. She is responsible for content development and co-ordination of the ongoing and future working groups on a wide variety of topics, including governance, insurance linked strategies, standardisation of disclosure, valuation, alternative credit, responsible investment, asset management regulation and compliance as well as new topics to be determined in the future.

Prior to the SBAI, Maria spent 12 years at Man FRM, most recently in Operational Due Diligence (2015-2020) and before that as Head of FRM Middle Office (2008-2015). Maria also has worked in Fund Administration in Dublin and in Operations at Investment Managers in London.

Maria received an BSc Natural Sciences (Astronomy & Planetary Science) with First Class Honours in 2017 from The Open University.

Robert Moore

Investment Advisor & Portfolio Manager, Man group

Robert Moore is an Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager and the Head of Quantitative Strategies at Man FRM, based in London. He is responsible for selecting and managing hedge fund investments as well as portfolios of quantitative, systematic and relative value strategies.

Prior to joining Man FRM in 2003, Robert worked as an equity derivatives trader at Salomon Brothers and Citigroup. He also worked as a data scientist in telecommunications.

Robert holds an MA in Mathematics from Trinity College, Cambridge and an MSc in Finance with Distinction from London Business School.
