Senior Analyst , Albourne Partners
Chantal Berendsen is a Hedge Fund IDD Senior Analyst – Insurance Specialist and joined Albourne in 2020.
Before joining Albourne, Chantal worked at Nephila Syndicate Management Ltd in London as a Senior Analyst - Underwriting & Claims. Earlier, Chantal spent two years at Hiscox, London as an Underwriting Insights Analyst.
Chantal holds an MSc in Empires, Colonialism & Globalisation from the London School of Economics & Political Science, and a BA in Political Science & German from Binghamton University, New York.
Special Advisor to Chief Financial Officer, Lloyd's
Des Potter joined Lloyd’s in March 2022 as Special Advisor to the Chief Financial Officer, Burkhard Keese, focusing on enhancing access for institutional investors to the Lloyd’s market.
He has over 20 years senior executive experience in the (re)insurance and Insurance-Linked Securities markets, having previously worked at Aon Benfield Securities Ltd, Barclays Bank and, most recently, spending ten years at Guy Carpenter as both CEO of investment advisory firm MMC Securities Ltd and Managing Director of GC Securities. Des was a founding member of the London Market Group’s ILS taskforce that developed the UK’s Risk Transformation legislation, passed by Parliament in 2017.
Outside of work, Des has two sons (also in the insurance industry!) and enjoys golf and scuba diving. He is looking forward to seeing his recently promoted Luton Town FC play Premier League football next year.
Head of Platform Development , Ariel Re
Tim Shreeve joined Ariel Re in May 2021 as Head of Platform Development, focusing on the development and operation of Ariel’s underwriting platforms.
Prior to joining Ariel Re he spent nearly ten years in various roles across operations, underwriting, ceded reinsurance and planning at Nephila Capital in Bermuda. Tim is a qualified accountant and spent several years in public practice in London before moving to Bermuda with Deloitte in 2008.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Asian Studies from the University of Birmingham, UK.
Deputy CIO, Managing Partner , Leadenhall Capital Partners
Lorenzo joined Leadenhall in 2010. He has over 25 years of capital markets and reinsurance broking experience (both traditional and non-traditional) having worked at Leadenhall Capital Partners since 2010 and previously at Aon Benfield Securities, BPM London, and Aon Re. At Leadenhall, Lorenzo is a Member of the Management Board, in charge of Global Business Development responsible for looking at new business opportunities and fundraising across non-life insurance investments and life & alternative credit investments.
During his career, Lorenzo looked at the complete spectrum of alternative methodologies of risk transfer, risk financing, and the convergence of the reinsurance and capital markets. He led the sourcing, structuring, marketing, and distribution of various projects and transactions on the securitization of insurance assets (including the setup of a couple of insurance linked asset managers).
He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of London.
