SBAI Thanks Thomas Deinet for Two Decades of Leadership and Service
After two decades of remarkable leadership, during which he helped build the SBAI from the ground up into the global organisation it is today, Thomas Deinet has informed us of his decision to pursue the next chapter of his professional journey.
During his time with us as Executive Director, Thomas has made a hugely valued contribution to our organisation, our members, and the wider alternative investment community. “We have greatly appreciated his expertise, energy, commitment, and judgement”, commented Chair Jane Buchan, CEO of Martlet Asset Management. John Claisse, CEO, Albourne Partners and a long-time Trustee, added: “The SBAI has benefited from Thomas’ ability to bring people and perspectives together, always 'solving for better', in alignment with the SBAI's core mission for 20 years”. Mario Therrien, SVP, Head of Investment Funds and External Management, La Caisse and former Chair of the SBAI, remarked that "Thomas led with patience, integrity, and an unmatched ability to convene and be a catalyst for high-quality idea generation— qualities I came to rely on throughout my five years as Chair. His legacy at the SBAI will be felt for years to come, and I wish him every happiness in this next chapter." Finally, Sir Paul Marshall, Chairman and CIO of Marshall Wace and a Founder of the SBAI, added, “Thomas has shown great passion and diligence and judgement all the way along steering a path through the changing alternatives landscape.”
The SBAI Board is sorry to see him move on; however, we are excited to see what the next chapter holds for him. We wish him every success and happiness for the future — and thank him for everything he has contributed along the way.
