We are Hiring: Head of APAC

This is a chance to work with thought leaders and be at the forefront of the development of global industry standards and guidance for one of the most dynamic areas of the investment industry.

The Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI) is an active alliance of institutional investors and managers dedicated to improving the alternative investment ecosystem. We do this by setting industry standards, providing industry guidance, and facilitating collaboration between managers, institutional investors, and the regulatory authorities. The organisation is truly global with members and activities across the world.

We are looking to strengthening our team by hiring a Head of APAC who will lead the expansion of the SBAI’s APAC presence.

Role overview:

  • Prominently represent the SBAI vis a vis the broader alternative investment ecosystem and effectively communicate the vision and value proposition
  • Help increase the level of engagement with our local community around SBAI content
  • Ability to identify emerging regional industry issues and convene discussions/lead select regional working groups/initiatives
  • Ability to represent the SBAI as a speaker at conferences / lead industry debates/ set agendas for SBAI events / independently run events - Support regional campaign with ability to engage with senior industry leaders (as well as regulatory community) - Liaison with members and potential members
  • Media savviness

We will be seeking an outgoing personality with good ability to bring people together and build communities – to become the face of SBAI in the region.

The position would particularly suit someone with 10-20 years of experience gained from working in alternative investment management, investment banking, (investment) consulting or financial journalism with a clear understanding of industry issues (knowledge of regulatory topics is an advantage).

The successful candidate will work closely with the SBAI’s APAC Consultant, the APAC Committee, Singapore Advisory Committee and interact with the SBAI’s team in London to build and lead the Standards Board’s efforts in the region.

This is a full-time position (tbc), location is flexible, occasional travelling in the region will be required. Fluency in Mandarin is an advantage.
